Independent Living Skills Training (ILST)

Promoting Independent Living with Ropes 2 Hope

The key to people with disabilities learning to live independently is having access to independent living skills. These skills are taught in a safe, comfortable, and healthy way, so everyone likes to learn. This is a step to get people living healthy lives on their own with minimal supervision. Ropes 2 Hope specializes in this field. Our staff is passionate about our mission and believe in teaching these skills by a hands-on work method. Living Assessment Skills

We here at Ropes 2 Hope understand that our clients have a broad range of challenges and barriers that can hinder them from their dreams of living as independently as possible. Ropes 2 Hope has designed an Independent Living Assessment Skills course. They use this evaluation tool to highlight their client’s skills and strengths. The Independent Living Assessment Skills tool is both comprehensive and asset-based to ensure optimal results. This Assessment is based on several fields. They are:

  • Direct Observation
  • Indirect Observation
  • Interviews
  • Self-Assessment

We take all of this data and apply it to the individual living plan program and see what areas need additional guidance or improvement, and the staff will sit down with the client and explain everything in detail so the customer and their families understand the process and what has to have more work done.

Ropes 2 Hope strives in helping people achieve their dreams of independent living.

  • Mission

To maintain open communication with our clients, their families, health care professionals and caregivers; we strongly believe
